The New Business Manager Institute is designed to guide you through the maze that is school business. The program moves participants through in-depth learning over the course of three years.

  • Ancillary Services (transportation, food service, etc.)

The curriculum is delivered at in-person meetings, via virtual meeting platforms, and through Canvas. Generally, all in-person meetings are held in conjunction with OASBO conferences, monthly meetings are held virtually, and assignments are completed on Canvas.

Beyond the Curriculum

Participants will also attend our in-person conferences. Registration fees for each conference are included for the first two years of program participation.

  • July - Cohort Kick-Off - Tuesday & Wednesday before the Annual Summer Conference
  • July - Annual Summer Conference
  • November - Fall Conference
  • January - Winter Conference
  • Spring - Zone Meeting (for your specific zone)


Mentorship

Participants will have access to mentors – people who have worked in school business management for years and have experienced the ups, downs, and stresses of the job. Mentors participate throughout the year at the in-person meetings as well as being available by phone or email.

Cost

The three-year program is $4,700. If paid in full, a $500 discount is offered. A three-year payment plan is also available.

The fee includes:

  • Access to the curriculum platform, Canvas.
  • Virtual check-ins.
  • Access to mentors via email, phone, and virtual check-ins.
  • Registration fees for conferences are covered for the first two years - Annual Summer Conference, Fall Conference, and Winter Conference.
  • Registration fees and some meals/snacks for all in-person meetings during the three years.

*Membership is not included in the NBMI fee. A separate membership fee must be paid annually when invoiced in December.

Instructors

Our instructors shepherd participants through the program. They act as experts, mentors, and cheerleaders. In addition, expert practioners in topical areas provide expertise throughout the curriculum.
